Who we are
A Girls Trip is a group travel planning app operated by A Girls Trip LLC. This policy explains what we collect when you use it and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, and your name and photo if you sign in with Google or Apple.
- Travel profile — nickname, budget comfort, activity level, food preferences, and an optional phone number.
- Trip content — trips you create or join, messages, votes, suggestions, itinerary items, tasks, expenses, photos and recap highlights.
- Notification preferences — how and when you want to be emailed or receive alerts.
- Usage information — which features and pages you use, and when, recorded as activity events so we can see what is actually useful.
Who can see it
Trip content is visible only to members of that trip. Your profile is visible to people who share a trip with you. If you turn on contact sharing in your profile, trip-mates can see your personal phone number; with it off, they see no contact details. Emergency-contact details are not shared with trip-mates. We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers.
How we use it
To run the app: showing your trips, tallying votes, sending notifications you asked for, keeping accounts secure, and fixing problems. We also use usage information to understand which features are useful and to improve the service. We do not use your trip content to train our own models, and we do not sell it.
Suggestions and other AI features
Some features use AI. When you use one, we send only what that feature needs to our AI provider, which passes the request to third-party AI models — today those are models from OpenAI and Google. We never send your whole trip.
- Suggestions and picks — where you are going, your dates, group size and the vibe, to suggest options, stays, restaurants and activities and to choose a photo for them.
- Receipt scanning — the receipt photo you upload, to read the amount, date and place.
- Invitations and confirmations — an invitation or booking confirmation you upload, to pull out the details.
- Shopping ideas and trip writing helpers — your destination, dates and vibe, to suggest what to pack or buy and to draft trip text.
- What's happening today — your destination and dates, to find events while you are there.
Alerts on your phone or browser
If you turn on alerts, your browser or phone gives us a subscription — an address and a pair of keys — and we store it so we can send the alert. It holds no message content. Turn alerts off in A Girls Trip and we delete it.
Links to booking and shopping partners
When you tap a booking or shopping link we record that the link was tapped — which partner, which screen and when — so we can understand what is worth recommending and reconcile any commission we earn. We do not receive your card details or what you ultimately bought from the partner, and this information is not shared with advertisers.
Referrals
If you arrive through a founder or creator link, we record that visit and, if you go on to create an account, that the account came from that link, so the right person gets credit. This is used for our own measurement only.
Payments
A Girls Trip is free to use, so we do not collect payment or billing information and we never see or store card details.
Sign-in providers
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and basic profile information from them. We never receive your password. You can also use an email and password instead.
We send account emails (confirmations and password resets) and, if you enable them, activity notifications. You can switch notification emails off or move to a daily digest at any time from your profile. Account emails are required and cannot be disabled while you have an account.
Storage and retention
Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit. Trip photos are kept in private storage and served only to trip members through expiring links. We keep your data while your account is open. Deleting a trip removes the trip and its planning content from the app. We may retain limited de-identified, security, analytics or business records where needed.
Closing your account
You can ask us to close your account from your profile, or by writing to hello@agirlstrip.com. We record the request so it cannot get lost, and we confirm by email once it is done.
Here is what closing an account actually does:
- If you created a trip other people are on, we hand it over to someone else in that group first, so their plans, history and money stay intact.
- We delete your private account data — your contact card, your alert subscriptions and notification settings, your loyalty numbers, your closet and outfits, and files only you could see.
- We clear your personal profile details: name, photo, phone, preferences, notes.
- We switch off your sign-in, so the account can no longer be used.
- Shared trip records stay — messages, votes, itinerary items, expenses and settle-up balances — attached to a bare internal reference with no personal details, because other travellers depend on them.
- We keep a minimum of security, consent and business records where we are required to or need them to protect the service.
So your personal information is deleted or de-identified — we do not claim every trace is erased, because shared trip history, group balances and legally required records remain.
Your choices
You can edit or clear your profile at any time, leave a trip, delete content you posted, turn off alerts, or ask us to close your account. Write to hello@agirlstrip.com and we will action it.
Children
A Girls Trip is not intended for anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and let you know in the app.
